Noah Hornick is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University. He is a clinical oncodermatologist and basic scientist whose work focuses on adaptive immune responses to self tissues, particularly in the contexts of developing cancer and immunomodulatory cancer therapies. His fundamental underlying interest is in the mechanisms of communication between disparate cell types within the skin: how do immune and non-immune cell populations interact to balance host defense against autoimmunity, and how are these mechanisms coopted by developing or progressing malignancies? The Hornick laboratory aims to address these questions by leveraging patient specimens that have already been collected for clinical purposes and interrogating them using cutting-edge technologies.
