Dr. Karreth received a Master’s degree from the University of Vienna, working with Dr. Erwin Wagner at the Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, Austria. He performed his PhD thesis work in the laboratory of Dr. David Tuveson, first at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and then at the Cambridge Research Institute of Cancer Research UK in Cambridge, England. Dr. Karreth conducted postdoctoral training with Dr. Pier Paolo Pandolfi at BIDMC-Harvard Medical School in Boston and Dr. Lewis Cantley at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. In 2016, Dr. Karreth joined the Moffitt Cancer Center where he is now an Associate Member. The focus of his laboratory is on understanding how non-mutational alterations such as ncRNA or transcription factor deregulation intersect with oncogenic signaling pathways to promote melanoma progression.
